Opening statements and witness testimony begin in the murder trial of Donald “Hondo” Williams III, 30, in Circuit Judge Sherwood Bauer’s courtroom, Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, at the Martin County Courthouse in Stuart. Williams III is accused of fatally shooting his estranged girlfriend, Maribel Morales-Rosado, at her home in Indiantown on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020, as her six children watched. Williams III is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, one count of burglary to a dwelling with an assault or battery while armed, discharge of a firearm causing death, and one count of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
